Couldn’t quit.

Hulk Farted!

by Bryan Fowler - May 4th, 2010

(Or, a very Incredible Hulk, part 5)

I’ve been working on a Hulk pinup recently and I thought I might be done but as is often the case a day or two later can make all the difference.

I also posted it in a few online forum and numerous people had the same reaction.  That reaction being that it look like the Hulk is ripping an massive, giant, fart.  (I wonder how Google will index this post?)  This just goes to show you one really needs to think about composition when doing a piece of artwork.  You shouldn’t just start sketching in Photoshop willy nilly like I did.  So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he want it.  Well, he gets it.  A giant Hulk poot!

I was way to anxious to get started and ended up with Hulk farting.  I should be hiding my head in shame or rolling on the floor laughing but instead I’m determined to take this “happy accident” and turn it into gold.  I’ll use this as an opportunity to make a better composition and give the piece a lot more impact and excitement.

Stay tuned.

Anybody that can find the movie quote in this post and name the movie will get a bfowler.com noprize.

A pretty incredible Hulk (part 4)

by Bryan Fowler - May 3rd, 2010

We’re really rolling now.

I’ve retooled the cloud quite a bit and repainted Hulk’s face.  Overall, it’s just a matter of bring up and refining what’s already there.

Orc Suicide Bomber

by Bryan Fowler - April 14th, 2010

I love Orcs.  Even before Lord of the Rings (the movies) I thought Orcs were an awesome creature.  I already see quite a few things  on this one I’d like to fix but I don’t have any work that after being away from it for 24 hours I don’t want to tweak something.  I’ve heard stores of how even the great Frank Frazetta was banned from his own museum by his wife because he would go rework old paintings.  Hopefully, that’s a sign that I’m always getting better and not that I just don’t know how to finish a piece.

Cyclops fighting a Sentinel

by Bryan Fowler - April 6th, 2010

I should take more time to come up with catchy titles to my paintings.  As some may know I working on some stuff to send to Marvel and here is an additional piece to that end.  Cyclops has always been one of my favorite characters and the image of his optic blast is a striking visual.

“Mangu”

by Bryan Fowler - October 19th, 2009

Here is a little something I did in Photoshop.  When I first saved this I wondered what I should call it.  Man with gun seemed to fit since it was a man with a gun but as I am prone to do I shortened that to Mangu.  Kinda catchy don’t you think?
